Miguel Teubal, was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In his youth he studied piano, harmony and composition with Theodor Fuchs. Despite this important early musical training, he did not follow a professional career in music. He studied at Berkeley University of California obtaining a M.A. in economics and a Ph.D. in agricultural economics. He thereafter returned to Argentina and worked as a professor and researcher at the University of Buenos Aires. In the mid-1980s he returned to his musical training and studied composition with Daniel Montes. In 1999 he won the prize “Premios Edenor a la Creación Musical” of Radio Clásica of Buenos Aires for his solo piano work “Telarañas”. His opus contains a large number of works for solo piano as well as numerous chamber works for different instrumentations, such as duos for violin and piano, clarinet and piano, horn and piano and trios for flute, cello and piano.
