Amanda Guerreño was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1933. She studied at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, graduating with the degree of Advanced Professor in piano. She studied piano under Maestro Roberto Castro and composition under Maestros Roberto García Morillo and Alberto Ginastera. She was trained in instrumentation and orchestration by Conductor Mariano Drago. At the Instituto Torcuato di Tella she pursued her formation with the study of electronic music studying electroacoustic music under Maestro Francisco Kröpfel.She has taught at numerous schools, both primary and secondary, and has conducted various choir ensembles. As a pianist she has given numerous concerts and broadcasts throughout Argentina, mostly dedicated to Argentine and Latin American Music, but also to Classical and Contemporary Music. As a composer she has written works of various genres and styles, ranging from songs to symphonies and chamber music pieces. Her works have been heard in Argentina and abroad and have been acknowledged by both local and international critics. She was awarded for her outstanding composition output by the SADAIC and has received several distinctions and awards as a songwriter. She is a member of the Asociación Argentina De Compositores and is the Founder of the Foro Argentino de Compositoras..
